Terms of use

These terms cover Avila Labs accounts and the services at avilalabs.org that you reach by signing in. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not create an account, or delete the one you have.

Your account

• You must be 16 or older.
• Use an email address you control, and keep your password to yourself. One account per person.
• You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think someone else has used it, reset your password and tell us.

Fair use

Please do not:

• try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours, or get around the limits that protect the service;
• overload the service, or create accounts automatically or in bulk;
• resell or share access to your account;
• use the service to break the law or to harm anyone.

If you find a security problem, we would like to hear about it: email connor@avilalabs.org and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before telling anyone else.

The tools and their results

• ACTINV, Converra and OpenBNCT are research and engineering software. Their results are calculations that depend on your inputs, on nuclear and material data, and on models with known limits. Results can be wrong.
• Results are not a substitute for review by qualified people, and are not certified for regulatory, safety or licensing decisions. You are responsible for how you use them.
• OpenBNCT is not a medical device. Do not use it to make decisions about the treatment of any patient.
• The open-source tools keep their own licences. Nothing in these terms takes away a right those licences give you.

Your content

Anything you add to your account stays yours. You allow us to store and process it only to run the service for you. Deleting your account deletes it, as described in the privacy notice.

Features marked “coming soon”

Parts of the dashboard are previews of features that are not available yet. They may change, arrive later than expected, or not arrive at all. Nothing shown as coming soon is a promise.

Availability and changes

• We work to keep the service running, but it may be unavailable at times, and we may change it.
• If we ever close Avila Labs accounts altogether, we will email account holders at least 30 days before, except where we cannot (for example, if the law requires it sooner).

Ending your account

• You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and explain why.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The service and the tools are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made using results from the tools. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

How we handle your data is set out in the privacy notice.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update them here and change the date above. For significant changes we will email account holders before they take effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account.
